guide, the site descriptions are listed as follows:
1. This website provides outdoor images of adult
butterflies of Taiwan native species for the user to conduct investigation and
comparison work, it does not include butterflies that are born in Jinmen(金門) or
Maju(馬祖) areas, and contains no images of their early life stages. The current
collection includes 357 species of butterflies, yet images of some rare,
questionable or occasional species remain unavailable. Most of the images used
in this website are of outdoor live butterflies, only a small portion of images
are those being raised in captivity and photographed after their eclosion.
2. To look up a species in the illustrated
guide, please select a butterfly family from the above menu bar, then select
the Chinese name in front of the scientific name. Or select a subfamily image below
to enter the thumbnail-style of index page, then select the image of desired species.
3. All images used in this website are
provided by volunteers of the aforementioned society or by butterfly
enthusiasts, the authors of the images own the copyrights , unauthorized
download of copyrighted images for any other uses are prohibited. If you need
authorization, please contact us.
4. If you need to enlarge the images or the
text for better viewing, please use Ctrl key + mouse roller to adjust the size.
